If you have ever bought anything on credit or had a credit card or had someone charge you with a collection, you should have a credit report on file. This file is available for you to see. You have access to the information that lenders see in your credit
report. Sometimes we hear different words used that refer to the same thing.
For example, people will use the words "credit file/credit report/consumer
credit report/consumer credit file/credit profile" interchangeably. In most
cases, they refer to the information that is contained in an individual's credit
file.
